My first experience with an inn to inn walking holiday was in 2016 — Eric & I took a self-guided walking tour with Sherpa Expeditions (now called Walkers’ Britain) to the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland. We’ve been hooked ever since. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, it’s basically an itinerary in which you walk from lodging to lodging. It’s sometimes called self-guided hiking or slow travel & it’s very popular in Europe, especially in the United Kingdom. If you use a tour company, they take care of everything for you (including transferring your luggage between lodgings). It’s a wonderful way to experience a new place in a slower way while still remaining active.
