We spent our first night just outside the North Entrance of Yellowstone at Park Hotel Yellowstone in Gardiner, MT. LOVED it! Gardiner is a sleepy mountain town with lots of charm without feeling touristy. The Park Hotel is a family-run inn, beautifully decorated & in a prime location. A 1-night stay was expensive ($325), but it was comparable to what we’d pay during the summer within the park itself. Yellowstone in summer is NOT a cheap destination unless you camp or book early.
You’d think Rheumatoid Arthritis would be what slows me down on hikes, but NOOOO…it’s always the simple bane of every hiker that takes me down. Our final hike on the island of Sifnos was not the trail we initially planned. We had hoped to walk Trail 6, which is a loop trail that takes you around the highest point of the island. Alas, I developed an open blister on the bottom of my foot & I knew I wasn’t “up to par” for that hike. We chose a relaxing coastal trail instead & the final destination made it all worth it.
This is the third in a series of posts about walking Sifnos, Greece. If you missed part I, click HERE. If you missed part II, click HERE. Otherwise, keep reading..
Trail 4 was the one I was most excited about, BEFORE we hiked it! It had secret beaches along the way & ended with a great beach town. What I didn’t account for, however, was that most of the hike was HOT & DRY! It was like walking through a desert. And the climbing, yikes! But I’m getting ahead of myself, let me backtrack.
